Anhui
Anhui produces some of China's most celebrated green and black teas - Keemun, Huangshan Mao Feng, Liu An Gua Pian, and Taiping Houkui.
Anhui province in eastern China is home to several of China's Ten Famous Teas. The misty peaks of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) produce Huangshan Mao Feng, a delicate green tea with orchid-like aroma. Lu An Gua Pian (Melon Seed Tea) is unique among Chinese green teas in being made from single mature leaves with no buds - a labor-intensive process producing a distinctively shaped, slightly toasted tea. Taiping Houkui (Monkey King) features dramatically large flat-pressed leaves grown in the Taiping area. Anhui is also the home of Keemun, one of China's most refined black teas, prized for its wine-like, orchid-cocoa complexity and traditionally favored by British connoisseurs as the base for English Breakfast blends.
Tea types: Green Tea (3), Black Tea (2), Yellow Tea (1), Dark Tea (1).
