Nantou
Nantou is Taiwan's largest tea-producing county, home to Dong Ding oolong and many of the island's classic styles.
Nantou county in central Taiwan is the heartland of Taiwanese tea. Lugu Township produces Dong Ding oolong - a medium-oxidized, traditionally charcoal-roasted oolong with a balanced floral-roasted character. Yu Chi township is famous for Sun Moon Lake black tea, a unique Taiwanese black tea with notes of cinnamon and mint. Nantou's tea production spans multiple styles and elevations, from low-elevation Bao Zhong to high-mountain Shan Lin Xi.
