Enter your vessel size and tea type. The calculator returns the recommended leaf weight, water temperature, and steep time - for both Western and gongfu brewing styles.
Standard leaf-to-water ratios
- Western brewing: 2.5 g leaf per 240 ml water (about 1 tsp per 8 oz cup)
- Gongfu brewing: 5–7 g leaf per 100 ml water (very high leaf-to-water ratio, short steeps, many infusions)
- Matcha: 2 g (1 tsp) per 60 ml water (whisked, not steeped)
